Tamron 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD (Nikon Z)

The VXD autofocus locks onto birds faster than I expected for a zoom this wide, and the 27mm wide end is perfect for landscapes before switching to 450mm reach. I’ve shot an entire afternoon without swapping lenses once.

Been using this on hikes for the past month and the VXD autofocus locks onto birds faster than I expected, even at the 300mm end. The 27mm equivalent wide end is surprisingly sharp for a superzoom, though I wish the aperture were a stop brighter for low-light shots.

Went from a 16-50 kit lens to this and I honestly haven't taken it off my Z50 since. Covers everything from landscapes at 18mm to birds at 300mm, and the VC keeps handheld shots at the long end surprisingly steady. One lens instead of three in my bag.
