Westcott FJ80-SE M Universal 80Ws Speedlight

The recycle time on this unit is impressively fast, even at full power, and that 550+ flash count per charge means I rarely need to swap batteries during a shoot. It handles beautifully for both portraits and detail shots without any harsh hotspots.

Shot a full wedding reception on a single charge and still had juice left — the 550+ flashes claim is no joke. The round head gives noticeably softer, more even light on the dance floor than my old square speedlight.

The round head gives a soft, even spread that’s noticeably nicer than my old rectangular unit, and the 550 flashes per charge easily got me through a full portrait session. Only wish the controls were a bit more tactile, but for the price it’s a solid workhorse.
